Obesity
Obesity
There is a simple explanation for most dogs’ obesity. The energy output is much greater than the calorie intake. I am a guilty owner. I would say my dog “Abby” gets a cup of food in the a.m. And a cup in the p.m. and the usual response is “what flavor of ice cream does she like”? I guess I really didn’t see the harm I was doing to my cherished friend until she was diagnosed with diabetes. Now I give her two injections a day. I see her losing weight, diminishing sight on top of seizures.
Don’t be like me and think how funny it was when your pet has that powdered donut all over their face. I never realized how much damage I was doing to her. I cherish every day I am blessed with her company.
